The Original HOTMESS “Out @ night we hit the street & in the club is where we meet!” “HOTMESS!!” “Lesbo Lovers, Silly Queens, Hipster Fags & all their Hags you must confess Y’all a HotMess!” Billed as a “Gay” party, but for us is defined as “ A Queer Party for Queer People” With ten plus years of experience in the Nightlife/Club industry Creators David Richey along with L.A. Kendall Started HotMess in Febuary/2006 @ the War Room (Seattle, Wa.) Owner, Seattle tastemaker & creator of the infamous “Yo Son” Marcus Lalario approached us to help round out the already diverse rotating Friday nights, which include: “Rags to Riches”, “Cherry”, “HotMess” & “Gett’in”. Our goal was to fill what we saw as a void in the Seattle queer club scene by having a dance party that featured an all female DJ line up with local & national underground Live performances. Plus hand picked & edited visuals by Devolution to set the mood (which @ the time un-believably was not happening). A success by any ones standards pulling upwards of 400+ people from the start! We have had the rare opportunity to work with & showcase some of the most amazing talent including: DJ’s L.A. Kendall (Sea.), Julie Herrera (Sea.), Colby B. (Sea.), Dickey Doo (Vancouver B.C.), Barbeau (Dirty Sanchez-L.A.), Blu (Sea.), Who’s that Wizard feat… Amateur Youth & Mathematix (Sea.), Tina T. (L.A.), Wasabi (Sea.), Princess Superstar (N.Y.C.), Cum-dumpster aka Marcus Wilson (Sea.), Sean Majors (Sea.), Marty Mar(Sea.) Performers Chocha Fresca (L.A. via Sea.), Avenue D. (N.Y.C.), Jackie Beat (L.A., N.C.Y.), Ursula Android (Sea.), and New York club Legends Cazwell & Amanda Lepore both in their first Seattle appearance. (Which we garnered the cover of “The Stranger” Seattle June 2oo6) Who we wanna meet! Dirty Biches, ALL QUEERS, B-Boys, Drag Queens, Straight, Gay, Black, White, Artists, Breakers, Dj’s & everyone in between!
