Romance Website Scams

Unfortunately free dating websites tend to attract some people who are here only to scam other members. Here at Meeta we have spent the last several months working on behind-the -scenes features to catch these spammers so that you can have confidence that the members here on the site are real people and not just a bunch of fakes looking to take your money.

We will continue to work hard to ensure a spam and scam-free site. However, it's still good sense to be careful whenever initiating contact with new people on any website, including this one.

The best rule of thumb is always: "Does this sound too good to be true?" If some amazingly sexy single person is contacting you saying they want to get into a serious relationship right away - it's too good to be true!

In *any* case where you suspect a message is a scam or spam, please report the message to us. You can do this by clicking the link in the upper left hand side of the page where you read your messages.

If you have any feedback or comments for us, including complaints, we would love to hear from you.

Beware of any member stating that they are "Currently in Ghana". This is a country known for its internet scams.

You can always block the person but the best thing to do is report that person as a 'spammer'. When you receive a message from the spammer there is a line at the bottom - If you suspect this member is a scammer or is sending you spam, please report it!- with the word 'scammer' and 'report it' being links to send to an admin.
